Are you looking to better understand the regulatory landscape around sustainability and infrastructure investments? Our upcoming webinar is here to guide you through two crucial frameworks: TCFD (Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures) and SFDR (Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation). These frameworks play a significant role in shaping investor confidence and transparency around climate-related risks.

We asked two of our expert speakers, Bevan Jones, Director – Net Zero at EVORA, and Eleanor Hughes, Managing Consultant at EVORA to share their thoughts on the topic.

Understanding TCFD and SFDR in Infrastructure Investment

As sustainability continues to rise on the agenda, understanding the nuances of TCFD and SFDR can give you an edge in ensuring regulatory compliance and demonstrating responsible investment practices. This webinar will provide insights that helps you understand the challenges and opportunities specific to infrastructure investment.

These frameworks and their requirements can seem overly complicated; however, this webinar will start with the basics, focusing the scope and purpose of these regulations. This webinar will focus on the infrastructure sector (for both funds and assets) and will consider the key challenges faced by this sector when complying with these regulations based on EVORAs insights. Overall, we hope that participants will gain valuable insights into how they can better prepare for reporting and leave with an understanding of the key components of these frameworks.”, says Eleanor.

According to Bevan, “TCFD plays a crucial role in building investor confidence. It shows that a fund or entity recognises its risks and has a plan to address them” He points out that while many believe there’s already good practice around TCFD, “few companies actually outline their impact on business models, or lay out options for how they need to adapt in response to climate change.

This webinar will focus on insights that we have across the infrastructure industry, and the implications these regulations have for all involved sectors: “Although these regulations may capture financial institutions first (at least in the initial stages) we also encourage portfolio companies to join the session as the requirements for data may indirectly affect them in future.”, Eleanor explains.

By attending this webinar, you’ll gain clarity on climate risk and reporting, and get practical guidance on creating disclosures that meet both investor and regulatory expectations. Bevan’s advice to investors or asset managers looking to stay ahead of regulatory changes and capitalise on the opportunities presented by these frameworks is to tackle regulatory changes with a clear, incremental strategy: “With TCFD, the big opportunity lies in simple steps; starting with a gap analysis, risk assessment and internal discussions, and then moving to disclosure. This process can lead to a rapid improvement in understanding of both risks and impacts in a relatively short period.”

This webinar is open to all. Whether you’re new to these regulations or already in the process of preparing your next SFDR or TCFD disclosure, there’s valuable information to be gained.
