As we step away from a year marked by geopolitical tension, inflationary pressure, and regulatory shake-ups, one outcome stands clear: sustainability has cemented its place at the core of real estate decision-making.

In 2024, the scrutiny on climate data and social impact left no room for hollow commitments. Instead, investors, managers, and developers were forced to get specific, proving that talk without verifiable action holds no weight. These challenges demand practical solutions, collaboration, and a willingness to tackle tough questions head-on.

“This year brought a wave of new demands for our clients, in the midst of a tough financial climate. Among those, investors started asking more granular questions about carbon risks, data quality, and social accountability. The market moves to sustainability no longer sitting at the edge of decision-making, but rather stand shoulder to shoulder with the usual financial metrics. In fact, it is an important financial metric. By treating new regulations and investor scrutiny as an opportunity rather than a threat, we helped clients feel at home with the shifting landscape. This was the year that tested if we could help our clients turn uncertainty into progress. I believe we passed that test.”Meike Borchers, Global Head of Consulting.

The sector has made strides, but the road to net zero is far from straightforward. Real progress requires balancing bold commitments with grounded, actionable plans. From navigating decarbonisation strategies to embedding social value into projects, the past year has shown that success comes from focusing on what matters most: people, measurable outcomes, and resilience.

A String of Accolades, and One Acquisition – EVORA’s 2024

For EVORA, 2024 has been a year of growth, learning and progress. We were celebrated in the Emerging 50 Stars Awards by Megabyte, and ranked among Europe’s fastest-growing companies in the FT1000. Our contribution as consultants for UBS Asset Management  secured a Fitwel Best in Building Health Award. Our consultancy services were also recognised with the prestigious Best Sustainability Consultancy Award at the ESG Investing 2024 Awards, and Euromoney’s Real Estate Awards in the category UK’s best Real Estate Adviser, reflecting the incredible dedication and experience within our team.

Another highlight of the year was joining forces with Metry. This strategic acquisition has strengthened our data capabilities, allowing us to deliver even greater insight and value to our clients. With this addition, we also expanded our reach into the Nordics, further cementing our position as a global leader in sustainability consultancy and technology.

By welcoming Metry into the EVORA family, we’ve taken a significant step forward in simplifying and strengthening how real asset owners manage their sustainability data. At the start of the year, we had two talented teams driving innovation. Today, we’re a unified force, working together to deliver solutions that meet the industry’s most pressing needs. With our expanded engineering capabilities, coupled with our industry leading consulting capabilities, we are focusing on building smarter, and more reliable tools that set a new standard for the market. Despite a tough market, the momentum for change is undeniable, and we’re excited to share the results of this work in 2025. It promises to be a year of meaningful progress.” Carl Bates, EVORA CEO
