Andrew Cooper

Director, EVORA EDGE

Andrew was a founding director of EVORA EDGE in January 2017. He joined the business with more than 25 years of experience as a commercial property and engineering consultant which included working for companies such as the Valuation Office Agency and Deloitte.

What are your main responsibilities?

I am responsible for the design and management of mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) services for our larger clients who own portfolios of buildings. My remit includes Building Physics.

What’s the best part of your job?

I like the diversity of the job – literally, no two days are the same.  To be effective strategic sustainability goals must be incorporated into the day-to-day operation of commercial buildings and their property life-cycles. It is no use aiming for zero carbon emissions if your heating and cooling infrastructure can’t support it.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a soldier when I was a teenager. I got offered a place at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate when I was 17 but my Dad, who had been a military policeman, refused to sign the papers. He told me to go to university and join as an officer instead. I never got around to applying after I finished my degree.
