We seek an exceptional HR Manager, the first in the company, to support us in our next steps.

EVORA is an independent, pan-European sustainability consultancy specialising in the commercial real estate sector. We also have proprietary sustainability management software, SIERA. Our clients include real estate investment organisations, such as Schroder Real Estate, UBS, Legal & General & DWS.

Core Responsibilities and Skills Required

Core Responsibilities

The core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Formulating a HR strategy to support the vision and future growth of the business
  • Provide HRM subject matter expertise to leadership team
  • Supporting the international expansion of the business across Europe and America
  • Review and enhance current HR procedures and policies in line with EVORA’s values, best practice and employment law
  • Planning, organising, and controlling the activities and actions of the HR department
  • Developing an internal training and talent management programme for all staff to foster career development, effective resourcing and support growth at scale
  • Driving coaching and mentoring capability within the business
  • Driving key recruitment activities domestically and internationally for the business and analysing effectiveness
  • Developing an employer brand and employee value proposition (EVP)
  • Implementing a health and wellbeing initiative to ensure the welfare of all our staff
  • Develop the wider HR capability as the business scales and mentor and development of our current HR team
  • Putting in place a framework to build high performance teams aligned to EVORA values

Essential Skills

The right candidate must have the following essential skills:

  • Previous experience of running a functional HR service with UK and European locations
  • Expertise in the development and delivery of company HR strategies, plans and projects
  • Experience of working within an SME or mid-sized business
  • Understanding of UK & EMEA employment law
  • Exemplary influencing, Relationship and Stakeholder management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to collaborate and influence with absolute discretion
  • Matrix and Direct leadership
  • Talent Training and Development
  • Knowledge of key health & wellbeing factors as related to employees
  • Policy and documentation knowledge
  • BA or equivalent experience
  • Professional qualification (CIPD or similarly industry recognised qualification)

Desired Skills

The right candidate may have the following desired skills:

  • A second European language such as German, Italian or French
  • Experience of starting teams within new jurisdictions and of blended sourcing models (near-shore, off-shore)
  • Demonstrable experience of setting up mental health support programmes within corporate environments
  • Experience of international cultures and teams

Skills and Characteristics

Our HR Manager should possess excellent decision-making, strategic thinking, leadership, interpersonal, and ethical conduct skills.

They should also have a strong understanding of what it takes to support both a business and its employees in equal measure and have experience of leading HR during a high growth phase.


Current Team

In addition to the above functions of this role, we are looking for someone who can act as a mentor to our current Office Manager, who has genuinely done a great job and been heavily involved in all HR related issues setting up the HR infrastructure.

This role will provide mentoring and developing to progress this individual’s professional HR career.

Additionally, you will work with the COO and Office Manager to effectively engage and lead on our people plan to become recognised as one of the leading employers of choice and develop a best practice HR Architecture.

International Expansion

As a part of our strategy and success, we are currently expanding into several territories within Europe and America. The role will require someone who has experience both the experience of setting up and operating a HR function in new regions.
