We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to fill the role of energy consultant to support our recently founded German offices, our growing professional Sustainability Consultancy team and Building Performance service line. EVORA is an independent, pan-European sustainability consultancy specialising in the commercial real estate sector as well as providing software solutions with our proprietary sustainability management software, SIERA. Our clients include UBS, Schroder Real Estate, Hines and DWS (Deutsche Bank).

Core Responsibilities and Skills Required

Core Responsibilities

The core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning, completion and reporting of technical building level energy audits
  • Advise on monitoring and tracking of energy usage to assist EVORA clients in the management of post-audit improvement management programmes
  • Develop net zero carbon strategies including improvements of the building envelope, building services and on-site renewable energy generation
  • Project management of energy improvement programmes, serving as point of contact for clients, tracking deliverables, and producing or delegating work to meet deadlines
  • Collaborate with team members and provide technical expertise on energy management
  • Establish thought leadership by authoring blog posts, delivering presentations, and being active in industry organisations
  • Dynamic building energy simulation using software such as IES-VE, EnergyPlus (preferable)

Essential Skills

The right candidate must have the following essential skills:

  • Building energy audit experience with understanding of HVAC systems for commercial buildings
  • Robust knowledge of building services systems, preferably related to office, retail and mixed-use buildings
  • Detailed understanding of current and forthcoming energy legislation within Germany
  • Detailed understanding of energy market and drivers within Germany
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and technical aptitude
  • Commitment to professional excellence through active involvement, membership in or license with an appropriate and recognised professional body such as DENEFF, BAFA
  • Self-starter with proven ability to manage own time to deliver best in class service to clients
  • Fluency in German and English

Desirable Skills & Requirements

The right candidate may have the additional preferable skills:

  • Diploma, BSc or MSc in Building Services Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or similar technical education or experience
  • Experience with applying sustainability assessment tools such as DGNB, BREEAM Bestand, LEED
  • Experience with energy simulation and modelling software such as IES-VE, EnergyPlus
  • Experience with creating metering plans and sensor deployment plans for building systems
  • Language skills beyond German and English
