Simon Cripps

Sustainability Consultant

Having graduated from the University of Exeter in 2016 with a BSc in Geography, in 2017 Simon completed an MSc in Sustainability Science & Policy at the University of Maastricht, receiving a Cum Laude Distinction. He has been at EVORA ever since as part of the Consultancy team, and was recently shortlisted for IEMA’s inaugural Future Sustainability Leader Award.

What are your main responsibilities?

Leading on the day-to-day running of DWS’ ESG programme in Europe, interacting with all different kinds of stakeholders to promote and deliver enhanced sustainability performance at their assets. I am, among other things, a qualified BREEAM In Use Assessor, can deliver sustainability audits, have experience managing the full delivery of GRESB submissions, and I am well versed in the handling of data and modelling portfolios for energy and carbon targets.

What’s the best part of your job?

I love the direct and tangible ways we can help the environment – at the end of each week I can say “I saved XX tonnes of CO2 because I noticed YY and changed ZZ”.

What book are you currently reading?

In an attempt to learn German, I’m currently reading a dual-language version of the Grimm Brothers Fairy Tales. The process is as follows: read it in German and barely understand what’s happening, then read it in English and still barely understand what’s happening!
